Types of Diabetes

Type 1 – The pancreas makes little or no insulin
Type 2 – The pancreas doesn’t make enough insulin, or the body prevents the insulin that is made from working right.

Four Ways to Diagnose Diabetes

1. A1C 6.5% or higher
2. Fast blood sugar 126 mg/dL or higher
3. Oral glucose tolerance test result 200 mg/dL or higher
4. Symptoms of high or low blood sugar + blood sugar 200 mg/dL or higher on random blood test
